Where Lovable apps break when real users arrive

Six production failure modes we see on almost every Lovable app — and how we fix them.

Supabase auth and RLS confusion

Problem

You shipped with row-level security off, or on but misconfigured. Under the hood, user A can read user B's data — but it only shows up when you test as a second user. Most founders don't.

Solution

Our production review logs in as a second user and tries to access the first user's data on every route. We verify RLS with tests, fix the gaps, and leave you with documented policies.

Preview works, production doesn't

Problem

Stripe keys, Resend keys, OpenAI keys, webhook secrets — all set in preview, missing or wrong in production. The app looks fine until a user tries to pay or reset their password.

Solution

We move every environment variable into Quave ONE secret management with strict separation between preview and production. Full env var audit before launch.

Credit burn from bug loops

Problem

Lovable's AI keeps trying the same fix to a production issue. Credits drop, nothing ships, and you start to question the platform instead of the problem.

Solution

We pause the loop. Diagnose the actual root cause (usually infrastructure, not code). Fix it once. Document it so your AI never retries the same thing.

No rollback, no incident path

Problem

The Lovable deploy is a moment in time. If the new version breaks checkout at 11 PM on a Friday, you have no clean way to go back — and no alert that told you anything was wrong in the first place.

Solution

Blue/green deployments with one-click rollback. Centralized logs, error grouping, and at least one alert that pages you when production is down.

SEO and performance surprises

Problem

The default Lovable output can generate heavy bundles, expensive re-renders, and poor Core Web Vitals. Your first Google index happens with those metrics baked in.

Solution

We profile the real production app, fix the 3–5 biggest performance issues without touching your feature code, and configure proper caching, image handling, and SSR where it matters.

Nontechnical founder launch risk

Problem

You built a real app with Lovable, but you don't own a DevOps runbook, you can't read the stack traces, and you don't know what you don't know. Launch day is scary.

Solution

A senior engineer walks your app with you, hands you a green/yellow/red scorecard, and — if it makes sense — runs a fixed-price sprint so you launch with a team behind you.

How the Lovable Production Review works

1

Share your Lovable app

App URL, GitHub repo if exported, Supabase project, launch date. 3 minutes.

2

20–30 minute review

We log into your Supabase, walk your repo, run the 8-category scorecard live with you.

3

Scorecard and recommendation

Within 24 hours: green/yellow/red per category, top 3 risks, plan to fix them.

4

Choose a path

DIY with the checklist, Starter or Standard Sprint with us, or "not yet." No pressure.

What we check before launch

The full scorecard is 8 categories, ~40 checks. These are the ones that matter most for this builder.

Supabase specifics

  • RLS on, tested as a second user
  • Service role key never in frontend bundle
  • Auth redirect URLs match production domain
  • Database backups on + restore verified

Lovable deploy

  • Separate production vs preview environment
  • Environment variables complete and per-env
  • GitHub export works and matches live app
  • Rollback path practiced at least once

Payments (if Stripe)

  • Webhook signatures verified in prod
  • Idempotency key or dedupe in place
  • End-to-end test checkout in production
  • Failed webhook retry logged and visible

Observability

  • Logs centralized (not just browser console)
  • Errors grouped and searchable
  • One metric that tells you the app is healthy
  • One alert that actually pages someone

How Quave ONE supports exported / GitHub apps

Once your Lovable project is on GitHub, we can deploy it to Quave ONE Direct (our regions, zero setup) or connect it to your own AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI account. Your code stays yours. We run the production layer around it.

Common questions

  • No. Keep shipping features in Lovable. Quave ONE runs the production layer around your app — hosting, secrets, logs, rollback, backups, and on-call — without you moving out of Lovable.
  • Export your Lovable project to GitHub first (it takes a few minutes in Lovable). We can then deploy the exported repo to Quave ONE Direct or connect it to your own AWS/GCP/Azure account.
  • Yes — this is the single most common thing we fix in Lovable reviews. We test your RLS policies with a second user, patch the holes, and leave you with documented rules.
  • Only when a production risk requires it (e.g. a secret is in the frontend bundle, or a Stripe webhook is not verified). We prefer to change the infrastructure around the code, not the code itself.
  • P0 rescue calls get a response in ≤ 2 business hours and a senior engineer on the ground in ≤ 48 hours when paired with a sprint. P1 (launch ≤ 21 days) gets proposed scope within 24 hours of the review.
  • Review call is free. Fixed-price Starter Sprint: $1,500–$2,500 (2–5 days). Standard Sprint: $5,000–$10,000 (1–2 weeks). Nothing billed by the hour.
